The car crash detection feature in Apple Watch has played a role in saving the lives of 5 people in the US.
It should be noted that Apple introduced the car crash detection feature with iPhone 14 and Apple Watch 8 series in September 2022.
For this feature, Apple installs several sensors in the Apple Watch and iPhones that contact emergency services in case of an accident.
A car collided with a tree in a highway near the city of San Bernardino in the US state of California.
When the Apple Watch detected a car collision, it immediately contacted emergency services on its behalf.
After contacting the Apple Watch, the rescue teams reached the accident site.
Emergency services were alerted by crash detection software on an Apple Watch belonging to one of the occupants of the vehicle, local authorities said.
He further said that 5 people were trapped in the vehicle, out of which 2 injured were shifted to a nearby hospital while others were discharged after applying ointment.
This is not the first time that this feature in Apple devices has saved people's lives.
Even earlier this feature has played a role in saving the lives of accident victims many times.
