Tokyo: Two passenger planes collided on the runway at New Chitose Airport in Japan, one of which was carrying more than 280 people.

According to the World News Agency, two passenger planes collided in Japan for the second time in two weeks. The latest incident took place at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.


A Korean Air plane carrying 289 passengers crashed into a Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific on the runway with no passengers on board. An emergency was imposed on the runway after the collision.

Security officials cordoned off the area around the crashed aircraft while fire brigade and aviation personnel started rescue operations.


So far, no loss of life or property has been reported in the accident. Dozens of flights have already been canceled at New Chitose Airport due to snowfall.


It should be remembered that on January 2, 5 people were killed in the collision between Japan Airlines and Coast Guard aircraft at Tokyo's Haneda Airport.
