Our body gives out various signals that give an indication of what is going on inside.
It is very easy to forget to drink adequate amount of water in daily activities, especially in cold weather people feel less thirsty due to which people drink less water.
But drinking less water can make you prone to chronic diseases, including premature aging.
In a study by the US National Institute of Health, it was stated that if you avoid drinking adequate amount of water, as a result, the risk of premature aging, several chronic diseases and early death increases.
A National Institutes of Health study followed more than 11,000 adults for 25 years.
At the start of the study, the age of these individuals was between 46 and 66 years, and their health was assessed between the ages of 70 and 90.
The researchers looked at the sodium (salt) levels in the volunteers' blood as it indicates adequate water intake.
If the amount of sodium in the body is high, it means that the person is not drinking enough water.
Research has found that high levels of sodium in the blood accelerate the journey to premature aging, which in turn increases the risk of problems such as high blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar.
Similarly, the risk of chronic diseases such as stroke, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes and dementia increases by 64% in people who drink less water.
The study also found that drinking less water increases the risk of premature death by 20 percent.
The risk of developing chronic diseases increases with age, but drinking insufficient amounts of water can prevent these diseases and other risks in middle age, the researchers said.
He said that just as physical activity and a good diet are considered part of a healthy lifestyle, the habit of drinking adequate amounts of water can also slow down the aging process and have positive effects on health. Can be compiled.
He said that more research is needed in this regard to confirm whether drinking more water can slow down the journey towards old age or not.
However, he said that drinking adequate amount of water does not cause any harm.
The results of the study were published in the journal eBiomedicine.
