Suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput
34-year-old actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his flat in Mumbai on June 14, 2020, following which his fans have been demanding a CBI probe into Sushant's death.
Later, Sushant's family blamed his friend Riya Chakraborty for the actor's suicide and filed a case against her in Bihar, after which the matter reached the Supreme Court.
Sushant's family accused Rhea Chakraborty of establishing relationships with Sushant for money, getting him addicted to drugs, using him and subjecting him to such situations that he was forced to take extreme measures.
In its decision, the Supreme Court ordered the investigation of the alleged suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput to be handed over to India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The Narcotics Control Board (NCB) was also involved in the investigation after the case of drug use came to light during the investigation into the actor's death.
Meanwhile, the NCB had arrested Riya Chakraborty and her brother in a drug case in September 2020. Later, after about a month of detention, the Mumbai High Court granted conditional bail to Riya Chakraborty under which she was released for 6 months. He has to appear before the NCB on the first Monday of every month while his brother was also paroled after 3 months.
On the other hand, Rhea Chakraborty has been rejecting the allegations made by Sushant's parents and she herself has been demanding a transparent investigation into Sushant's death from Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
